Advantage of vinyl is you can change your mind after a year or so remove it and do something different.
It will last much better and you will be glad that you did it right.

And in a stranger universe than this on the third hand i could just go down to the local auto store and get genaric strips.
Paint is permanent and takes some skills to layout and prep and pain the area.
Vinyl takes a lot of clear coat and sanding buffing to not be able to feel that edge of the vinyl.
Painting requires quite a bit more prep time than wrapping.
If you choose to use vinyl make sure to use cast vinyl and not callendered vinyl.
I used a 3 4 band of 3m fine line directly above lining up perfectly with the top edge of the thick boot stripe.

For small sections that have to be repaired often vinyl wrapping can be less expensive.
Given it s usually a panel or two that need to be repaired it s cheaper to just wrap the repaired or replaced panel than it is to paint it.
If you don t care about the edge on the stripe it would be cheaper but in my opinion at that point it s more cost effective to do vinyl.
You may get bumped because this is the classic mustang section of the forum but imo i prefer paint cause its easier to get a smooth line transition.
